Our Vision
A diagnosis of cancer is a frightening and life changing experience.
Having several family members and friends who have battled various types of cancer, I was able to see firsthand the side effects from chemotherapy and radiation directly. I've also felt the fear, helplessness and confusion that comes with being a caregiver of these patients as well.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist who has worked in the dental field for 30 years, I have treated many cancer patients and survivors. This has provided me invaluable insight and knowledge on both the short-term and long-term chemotherapy side effects.
Oral side effects of chemotherapy and head & neck radiation are not just a comfort issue can affect the quality-of-life and health of oral cancer patients. Side effects of chemotherapy can potentially delay or complicate treatments, therefore compromising the patient's ability to beat these terrible diseases.
