Jill joins the Thyroid, Head, and Neck Cancer Foundation (THANC) 30 Stories Podcast

Jill Meyer-Lippert, RDH, founded Side Effect Support LLC (sideeffectsupport.com) after seeing how often cancer patients and caregivers are left to navigate oral side effects with too little guidance. A trained dental professional and longtime caregiver, Jill focuses on a practical goal: helping people reduce the oral complications of cancer treatment so they can feel more comfortable and confident during and after care.
In this episode, Jill explains what oral side effects can look like in real life, why they’re frequently underestimated and how better coordination between dental and medical teams can change outcomes. She shares how Side Effect Support is built to serve multiple audiences, offering education for patients and caregivers alongside tools and resources that also help healthcare providers support safe, informed oral care throughout treatment.
The conversation is grounded in credibility and real-world experience. Jill is the recipient of the Sunstar Americas/RDH Award of Distinction, holds a Certificate in Oncology Management from the University of Indiana School of Nursing, teaches in the National Network of Healthcare Hygienists’ Oncology Certificate Program and serves on the Registered Dental Hygienist Advisory Board for the Oral Cancer Foundation. Her work has also been recognized by Dimensions of Dental Hygiene as one of the “6 Dental Hygienists You Want to Know.”
